Trip report trip to Preveza Sundsvall Holsund + + + Corith ElefsinaAfter the wire coils that were loaded in Gijon after much struggling in the ice along the Swedish coast were unloaded Soraker, we had no orders out.
To our great surprise, the ice one day before we were still stuck to the Swedish coast disappeared, thanks to the western wind and temperatures just above zero.
As we disembarked the pilot we learned that we were chartered, only the sequence of loading ports was not clear that we heard the next day. Well, we were told the destination set by Sebastian, Greece, that while you know that the port where we just came from a true icerestriction A1 minus 3000 DWT, which means that only ships that can come to 3000 tons loading and they should have ice class 1 A, which surely made the necessary excitement on board.
The next morning just before noon, we recevied a new trip, first loading Holmsund recharge than in Sundsvall for 3 ports in Greece. The cargo consisted of 1000 MT. Wood Pulp and 1850 cub m, which is about 1500 MT, wood packages.
Quick anchor and towards Holmsund in open water, until just before the port of Holmsund there was ice again. The harbor was still thick ice, there was fortunately a port icebreaker that broke the ice for us.
We were finally fixed at 22:25. We changed one Grainshot to separate the cargo.
The next day we loaded timber cub.mtr 1000 and we left for Sundsvall where the evening we moored in 2 days there we have the rest of the cargo loaded. 500 cub mtr including wood .
After departure we arrived Sundsvall still sit in the ice near Markettskallen, just above the Alandsea. With a little help we were able to quickly prosecute our way on their own. Eventually we were Saturday March 13 around the 10 am from the ice.
Through the Kiel Canal, with a stop at Total Brunsbüttel bunker, where the pilot and trainee were relieved, prosecuting our journey to warmer climates. The two new people could be equal to a long journey for our concepts and gently swinging.
Halfway through the Bay of Biscay we got some from the wind, after getting Saturday, March 20 morning Cabo Finisterre passed had snapped it back on and were the temperatures are pleasant, around 15 degrees at night, by day grew even at 20 degrees
Passed Monday, March 22 morning and went to Gibraltar with beautiful weather in the Mediterranean. Early Friday morning we passed the far south eastern tip of Sicily and laid course for at Preveza, our first port of unloading.
Since we do not 7 hours Saturday morning might be, we made use of the nice weather and did a successful Man Overboard Exercise, after some time with the MOB boat having sailed, prosecuting our journey to Greece.
Saturday, March 27 we took at half past 8 time the pilot on board and about 8 to 20 minutes the ship was moored.
After the 7 packages detached timber to have stood on deck and were destined for Preveza, men began to unload with 20 minutes to 9, after 15 minutes so we could open the shutters, the rest of the cargo to unload. At 1 pm, the 1050 Cub. Mtr. timber for Preveza out and the ship could be made ready to continue her journey to Corinth. Sunday, April 28th we were at 8 pm local time for Corinth, with wind force 8 on the wharf across the majority still took some effort, but ultimately we were still moored at 08:50 and after the rest of the deklast losklaar have made we could enjoy a barbecue and just stretch your legs in Corinth.
Monday, March 29 was using 2 cranes 8 and half hours in 1600 cub mtr. Wood fired and we could through the Corinth canal to Elefsina, lying falcon near Athens.
The passage of the Corinth Canal and went into half an hour of daylight, so the cameras turned to hours.
Monday evening we arrived at here for 07.30 pm at anchor, as there are for all 3 ports, but only in daylight hazards, this meant a night at anchor. The next morning at 6 o'clock anchor and after an hour wait on the pilot, who apparently had a different time than we do, we were down at a quarter past 8, hatches opened and there were already the first rap packages timber ashore . Just after noon we were 1000 tons of wood pulp and 310 cub mtr. Wood lighter.
After we changed the grainshot, way we went out without orders. Shortly after the pilot went off, called up the Ronnie shippers and Sebastian know we should do it slowly, we almost had chartered, at half past 5 Dutch era, the redeeming call. We had "Wet Fly Ash" (in plain Dutch, axis) loading in Brindisi (Italy) Rotterdam / Dordrecht and Moerdijk.
